Do I need to use only purified water?

We recommend using purified water, to avoid damage caused by minerals in hard water, or other additives like chlorine. As a general rule : If it's ok to drink, it's ok to use. However, sometimes very pure or distilled water can cause a false “dry” signal to the water sensor. In that case, pour 1-2 cups of plain tap water into the bowl.
